UMPC, through its subsidiary Marhen Lithium S.A.
is developing the Rio Grande South Project.
UMPC, a global pioneer in environmentally responsible mining, through its subsidiary Marhen S.A, is developing the Rio Grande Project in the Province of Catamarca and holds ownership and exploration rights to the Tati, Tati I, and Tati II concessions in Catamarca, Argentina. This strategic move positions Marhen S.A. to play a key role in the development and exploration of these critical areas for lithium production.
Marhen Lithium S.A. received approval for non-invasive exploration at the Rio Grande South Project in Catamarca. The exploration, completed by December 2023, used advanced non-invasive methods to assess underground lithium reserves with minimal environmental impact.
The project involved local contractors, boosting community engagement and local expertise. By December, an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) was completed, paving the way for drilling operations to begin in April 2024. This Rio Grande South Project highlights Marhen Lithium’s commitment to sustainable mining and strengthens Argentina’s position in the global lithium market.
